I found this recipe for how to remove the residue amazingly well and the final step was to lay down clear shelf paper, so one does not ever have to do that cleaning again!
This recipe is like magic on stainless steal, a little elbow grease is needed on melamine and the like.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup baking soda
- 1 tbs liquid detergent
- Vinegar
Instructions
- Combine baking soda and liquid detergent
- Add enough vinegar to make a paste
- Scrub in a circle to remove the dust and grease.
- Moves quickly on stainless steal, a little elbow grease is needed on melamine.
- Once you rub it all off, use a damp clean cloth to remove the excess baking soda and grime.

Best to wear gloves as baking soda dries out your skin
