I was making one of my favorite soups saturday and knew fresh bread would be a great add. I had made this bread previously and decided it would be nice to try again with some gouda I had on hand! As a fun addition hubby was trimming the black basil plant, so i knew i needed to make some flavored butter with fresh basil and garlic. Mmmm! I found the original recipe here, ages ago. We ended up with 2 cases of coors light after a trip that didn’t happen, so i spent alot of time trying out beer bread, beer soup etc recipes to use it up!
The bread is easy to bring together. I have made it at least twice, with some gouda from the netherlands. Both times the results were sweeter than expected. Once with a wheat and once with kolsh.
It definitely isn’t the best type of the bread I have made, bit it’s something different and interesting.
