We kept some of the hello fresh recipes and modified them to be to our level – Hola Fresca Wilker Style!
This battered fried shrimp tacos was a great one!
I put some slaw at the bottom of mine, hubby just uses cheese! It’s a great quick-ish meal!
Crispy Chipotle Shrimp Tacos
Notes
This is such a fun and flavorful meal!
Ingredients
- 10 ounce Shrimp. (or 18-20 shrimp)
- 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon Chipotle Powder (or southwest seasoning) – separated
- 4 tablespoon Sour Cream
- 1 tablespoon lime or pepporincini juice – more to taste
- 6 unit Corn Tortillas
- 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
- Rinse shrimp under cool running water and pat dry with a paper towel.
- Heat a ¼-inch layer of oil in a large pan over high heat (use a nonstick pan if you have one).
- Meanwhile, place shrimp, cornstarch, and 1/2 tsp chipotle powder in another medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Toss until shrimp are thoroughly coated.
- Add shrimp to pan in a single layer and cook until golden brown and crisp, about 2 minutes per side.
- Remove from pan with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper-towel-lined plate. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, stir together sour cream, a squeeze of lime, and the rest of the chipotle powder (use more to taste). Season with salt and pepper.
- Optional: Add enough water to create a drizzly consistency (about 1 TBSP).
- Wrap tortillas in a lightly dampened paper towel and microwave until warm and soft, about 30 seconds.
- Divide shrimp between tortillas. Drizzle with crema.

This is a great recipe and thanks to Hello Fresh for the basics to make such a grand entrance for taco night!
Can also expand your taco night to include some lovely refried beans or just go with the basic street taco ideal!
If you are new here – i never have a lime around so i always sub the juice from a pepperoncini pepper bottle, it’s a great option. But if you have a lime, go ahead and use that!
