It’s Paco’s birthday and it’s time for another round of treats for my little man!
Usually we do puppy cakes, but when I saw this recipe I knew Paco needed it!
Paco and Muppet were quite pleased with with the results!
Carrot Cake Dog Treats

Ingredients
- 1 cup applesauce (plain, unsweetened, without any additives)
- 1/4 cup peanut butter (raw and natural, unsalted and unsweetened, and free of any flavors and xylitol)
- 2 large eggs (or 1 kombucha scoby)
- 2 cups oat flour (plus 1/2 cup more if necessary and for dusting)
- 2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup grated carrots (peeled first)
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes (unsweetened natural)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
- In a cuisinart blend the scoby
- Add the applesauce, peanut butter together until blended.
- Add in the oat flour, whole wheat flour, carrots, and coconut flakes until just incorporated.
- Transfer the dough to a surface lightly sprinkled with flour and knead 3-4 times until it comes together.
- Using a rolling pin sprinkled with flour, roll out the dough to a 1/2 to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Using cookie cutters, cut out the desired shapes and transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
- Place in the oven and bake until the treats are dry and edges are golden, about 40 minutes.
- Let cool completely.
Verdict:
Paco enjoyed these. I made baby cookies for muppet as well. Both enjoyed them and are happy to receive them!
